Hi, welcome to Banksia Bath 'n' Groom! My name is Emily, and I am the sole owner and operator of Banksia Bath 'n' Groom. I started my own business in 2021 after seeing many people having trouble getting their dogs into the dog groomers, especially around the holiday season; people having trouble finding someone to groom their large dogs and finally people finding it hard to fit a dog grooming appointment into their work schedule. 

I have worked in the pet care industry for over 15 years and have a lot of experience grooming dogs as well as extensive knowledge in dog behaviour and training.  I spent many years working for a local animal shelter and boarding kennels —where I was taught about correctly bathing and drying dogs as well as  general animal husbandry — along with vet clinic work and an animal science degree.  After leaving shelter life, I left to groom dogs and worked in a grooming salon where I was taught to clip and do breed specific grooms by someone very experienced in the dog grooming industry. I have also extensively fostered and owned many different breeds of dog which of course involved keeping them looking their best through grooming and clipping. I had a break from paid work to have kids, but continued grooming my own dogs as well as friends' and family's dogs.
